2010 Lincoln MKT Funeral Coach by Federal

needs bumpers. sorry but the lack of that chrome plated bit of ornamentation front especially. is missing that flat plain melted look in front looks like a leading chin on a prize fighter. I can see it with a thin ribbon of steel across the front and it's toned down and not to bad. the side view looks ok as does the working compartment. but if your going retro you should go retro. I only feel sorry for my grand kids and when the electronics go on this one it wont be worth fixing to have a old car to drive. had Ford pointed the nose on this and peeked the hood even slightly it would have looked so much better.

Yesterday, while going some place i had what i thought was one of those MKT pass me but did notice one thing it looked like a tail stretched explorer no marking's and in that test vehicle zebra theme but had a different frt end and that odd rear styling has anyone else seen one of these. the big 3 seem to do alot of road test's right by my house i do have a roush plant and a ford transmission plant within 10 min of where i live . my opinion of the MKT hearse is it look very odd prob. should have been done up like a carved hearse design of year's ago.

Got a feeling after seeing photos of the new Eagle creation a few weeks back that the crossover based vehicles may be the future of professional cars.

I have been a Lincoln fan for decades and having owned 11 Lincolns from the 60-early 90's and a 2002 I'd say this one realy hurts my feelings and to me it is not a Lincoln. A car as destinguished as a Cadillac and Lincoln should re recognizable from a mile away. I think an Edsel would make a prettier coach. Did anyone ever molest one into an Edsel ("""procar????"""") new topic anyone???:beatdeadhorse5:

I found it a little easier to swallow if you'll just hum the Jaws theme when you look at it...
(Chief Brody says, "You're gonna need a bigger boat...")

My favorite comment from a member of the Lincoln Club was this one : " It looks like the dearly departed is about to depart on a skiing trip! "

The MKT is built on the Ford Flex platform. Personally I like the Flex much better than the MKT. I have driven them both and I think the Flex is roomier and better looking. They both drive nice but I have to say that Lincoln is taking a turn for the worst I hope Ford can build the line back up. I think that the generation that are auto design professionals have a way different way of looking at things and the lincoln line is going to get worst. I certainly hope Lincoln does not follow Mercury in the next few years. The Flex may make a more traditional looking hearse.

I saw the actual prototype Lincoln from Eagle at the NFDA convetion in New Orleans last week. I think the design might grow on you (I guess). I am still partial to all things Cadillac.

I also have thought the Flex would make a nice looking hearse, for some reason I like the styling of it.

I do not remember seeing a hearse made from an Edsel but Im sure they exist, as a few coachbuilders converted them into ambulances.

Worse than ugly

Well they have to be crazy at Ford. To drop the Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car just seems crazy. The funeral home I work for is 100% Ford-Lincoln. Even a 37 S&S Ford hearse. Used black Town Cars are going to be hunted by funeral directors for years to come. That grille is frightening to look at! Ugly is insufficient.
Maybe they should use the Taurus as the basis for professional cars - that's what they're shoving down the throats of police chiefs and sheriffs. Shame Shame Ford! Just as un-American as when Chevy dropped the big Caprices.
