The aluminum sheeting on the door panels and inner quarter panels is also definitely worth saving if not all beat up or corroded. Many end up just covering their door panels with vinyl, due to these panels being in such rough condition(which I do not care for). The best way to save/store it is on the panel that it was attached to.

The car is looking much different than it did a week ago. Not so much on the outside but definitely on the inside. There are still a few things I need remove. Monday is it's last day.

Save the front bumper ends, if not rotted through. Save any doors that aren't rotted out on the bottoms. Save the cabinet header.

I know but my guy could cut it and make it work inserting my center step.

I believe that Richard is looking for the long section with the back up light to the left of the piece in your photo. It's still good that you saved that center license plate mount as they were prone to getting dented/hit as well.

Make sure that you save the painted pot metal head light doors as well(if good) as they were prone to getting bumped and cracked with the way they stuck out on the corners. Also, save the chrome-plated headlight surrounds too if not badly pitted.

Got My Parts Today!

Lucille and I drove to Voorheesville, NY to collect our parts. We met Vincent, his wife and their Alaskan Malamute dog. They are very nice! My parts are great and I am very happy with the deal we made for them. I will post a picture of my parts later.

Honestly, the ambulance is rougher than you could imagine, as far as the body. However, it yielded many good parts. Vincent still has a number of parts still for sale. Worthy of mention, he has a real nice stretcher, with a good, clean mattress. He also has a very decent pair of jump seats. If you need anything, don't hesitate to buy from Vincent, his pictures of items are excellent, he is a straight-shooter guy and he accepts Paypal. Get it while it is still available!

My hat is off to Vincent, for thinking enough to save and offer to us, these hard=to-find parts. Thank you very much Vincent!

A Few Pictures

Here are some pictures of what we bought.

1 Rear loading door glass and both corner glass windows

2 Heater/AC, ETC switch panel

3 An Emergency switch panel in the rear compartment

4 A pair of sun visors, which I needed. A black rubber antenna and a whip-type antenna

Some of these items I bought to use, the rest of the stuff I bought just in case someone needs it someday. Like they say on American Pickers "the time to buy it is when you see it" This stuff might be around, but I thought it was worth saving.

this is the part Richard is needing. believe it or not they used this same sections for both the ambulance and the Hearse from 66 to 73. small changes in the back up lights is about it. as in Richards case they cut the center section back and drilled a set of holes in them for the step. the bumper ends are commercial chassis only also. the taillights are standard Caddy stuff. I lost a cup of coffee on a bet on bumper ends one time

Bumper ends depend on the year Ed. Most years they are the same and have a transition piece.

That is what I thought. I got proven wrong on the 71-73 at least the 4-6 use the transition piece. I really don't know about the 66-70 never had to go look for one of. Them

Bumper Ends

65-73 Do not have a transition piece. The taillight ends are a commercial part. The basic taillight housing is the same as the passenger car of the same year. The CC taillight housing is made to fit the cc bumper. You can see this in the pics of the 72 bumper ends below.

Sadly, most parts of the rear bumper have rust thru issues.
Including the side Richard needs.
The car has now gone on to a better place.
