1966 Cadillac Superior Sovereign Tiara

Got her home

Got her home Saturday and the clean up has begun. So far she's coming out nice. The family was almost in tears watching her leave. After being dormant for 3 years, with some fresh gas and battery she fired right up and drove onto the trailer.

Jim,

I could probably fix you up with both. I could also deliver them to Matt Menges' body shop in Wichita, if you would like. I get down to southern KS on a fairly regular basis. I believe that you are a friend of Matt's. Shoot me a PM, if interested.

That interier was the sharpest one i have seen. Loved it. You will need a superior light base for that one as it uses a hot shoe. Easy enough to make as that is all superior did on there's. I have pictures if you need them. Then they used a 1/4 20 bolt not the 3/8 with the hole drilled threw it. If you find a none demonstrable one i could do a superior mount for you. Then all you have to do is swap the tag.

After a good scrubbing

I went home last night and gave her the first serious scrubbing she has had in a long time and she came out rather well. All of the interior lights are now working and I only have blower motor and brake light issues to track down now. And, by the way the missing Superior emblem fo the rear quarter is in the glovebox.

here is the light you are looking for. now this one is living the live of luxury down in Atlanta. but it's the same configuration. the hot shoe was used off and on by Superior the contact is riding on a rubber washer -sleeve to insulate it from the ground. the light then grounds threw the bolt like any other light. you can see from the pictures it's something superior built in house. Eureka built there mounts also.

More discoveries

So I decided to take the 66 to dinner tonight and my Friend Johnathan saw something shiny behind the switch panel. After careful extrication, we found these. My original Superior Coach key is now whole again.

What a beauty! I can just see her with a 175 on the roof with a clear glass dome and ambulance grills in the windows

Not as nice, but I saved it from we are going to make limo out of it crowd. 3 way , Always a local coach , no rust but had a crappy vinyl top that is now peeling, dead paint etc. Sat in a garage for about 10years. Fired right up after installing a fuel pump and cleaning the pickup tube in the tank. Has some ancient Firestone extra loads still on it.20190218_154507.jpg20190218_154528.jpg20190218_154507.jpg20190218_154528.jpg

Great save Daniel! It is a good looking coach too.
