1949 cadillac fleetwood limousine

1949 CADILLAC FLEETWOOD LIMOUSINE One for Bill Has automatic, OHV engine for 49 not the Flat Head added Air Conditioning and an Alternator. Does not say so but one wonders could Power Steering have been added. Need to ask. 1949 an interesting year like the 1965 had the styling that went back to 1941 while the rest of the Cadillac line was all new along with the needed OHV engine. The interior on the other hand is repulsive but would sure go great on Cruise Night. Also open to offers. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1949-Cadil...150342?hash=item3fece1a486:g:WB0AAOSwtmhfntgk

There are several things that bother me, 1 The seller sells cars from all over the country, so how much does he really know about the car. 2 Would that red interior be correct? 3 Way more than I want to spend on a car we seldom use.

Some thoughts #1 guy is a car dealer so unlikely he knows anything perhaps he would furnish name of owner he bought it from #2 Interior is the pits for anyone who knows what they are looking at. Like I said in the post a hit on cruise night but yeech to a Cadillac expert. #3 Yeah unfortunatly today a buck does not buy much. A Suburban that in 90s cost $4800.00 when you shopped now is $70000.00 and the dealer will tell you what a deal you are getting as the window sticker is $77500.00. Then there is my friend waiting for his 21 Escalade only $102500.00. #4 My advise if you like it is call offer 13k. They are not flying off the shelf.

I would walk away, just for the reason of it having glass pack mufflers on it. Those cars were whisper quiet when new, and should still be whisper quiet today.

23 is the price of a used truck today. One with 140 grand on its clock. It's a make a offer thing. Make a offer. I have yet to buy a used rig i didn't put a grand into.

All things considered, I will wait. To Pete's points, I agree, everything is seemingly going up in price, but I am finding myself getting cheaper in my old age. I will keep looking for something that fits our likes and budget, it is out there. Sometimes these cars don't find buyers and then their owners get anxious.

49 would have been a 6 volt + ground car.
No allternators existed in 49 other than military, and you don't want to know about those things.

My $ says that car is a Johnny Cash special.
