Thanks Jon that is so cool a site, now a favor, I am trying to convince some people that during WW2,the princesses,Elizabeth and Margaret stayed with the King and Queen in London for the duration of the war,and that the girls took training for the war effort,I am sure Elizabeth now the Queen, trained as an ambulance driver,is that correct?thanks

Wayne, looks like she tried. Apparently the royals felt they should stay together in and around London.

'At 16, as World War II raged, she asked her father if she could serve as a volunteer nurse in bombed-damaged London, but he thought it was too dangerous. She persisted in asking, and when she was 18 he allowed her to volunteer with the Auxiliary Territorial Service, where she was trained to drive and repair heavy transport vehicles, although she was not allowed to do much of the actual driving and repair work.'

Ed, sometimes I think she would like to lose me!!
