Was the alternator in my 1976 Superior 54XL a 145 Amp Alternator?

Yes, my records show 145 amp.

If you are not big on originality you can convert it to a regular size GM alternator. Plenty out there that surpass the capacity of the stock one.

That is always the dilemma isn't it!
Changing the OEM for a more modern unit will require new mounting brackets, and you will also need to find a matching pulley to the belt system that you now have.
If its working don't mess with it. Is my observation. But 145 amp sounds about right
