I bought this car as a package deal with a 70 Superior Rescuer. I can't keep two. So I restored this one first. I had no plans to keep it, although I've been dragging my feet putting it on the market. I also have a 53 Chevy livery style ambulance I bought last month. Never a real fan of the looks of the Volunteer- I knew when I bought it 23 months ago I'd do a nice restoration and let it go to a new home.

What is a "livery style" ambulance?

It's like a station wagon w/o windows. Short wheel base. The Sarnia, Ontario, FD must have bought a straight truck. This car is very short.
How short is it? The stretcher has to be up at about a 70 degree angle to be able to fit it in between the drivers seat and the back door. Nice interior restoration, I must say. Would even work as a first call car. I think it would have been a vehicle for a business that delivered, or a tradesman. (person). I love it!
