1976 Rear Bumper

I was so amazed by your knowledge of bumpers when someone had recently posted a want ad for a 1972. Sorry for the very basic question. But my 1975 Miller-Meteor and 1976 Superior appear to share the same reverse lamp assembly.

1. Are these removable without taking off a number of the other sections?
2. I guess it was common for this bumper to rust out easily based on your comments in the other thread and the condition of my Superior’s. What years / models shared the main sections?

thank you!41D08DBA-4D54-4740-88AB-FDA94FAD406E.jpeg136E10BF-4A1C-4787-AEC5-51C42BC9A6C3.jpeg

74-76 All coach builders use the same CC bumper. supplied by Gm. Some of the ambulance manufactures modify the center section for a step and sometimes cut the bumper blades down to accommodate the step. 74-76 Hearse , Flower cars , and combinations all the parts interchange . The taillight lens is from 74-77 midsize GM station wagons. These Illustration's are from a Superior parts book.

Thank you both! I have somewhere to start. The bottom of the bumper on the funeral coach is quite an eyesore compared to the rest of the car.

They are repairable, but expensive to do, and the bumper replaters are not inclined to doing them any longer because of cost. If you have a good welder, they could repair the bumper, and then send it out for chrome. Chrome is getting very expensive this past year.

Thanks. The ambulance bumper is in great shape (except the dent in the chrome light assembly). The hearse not so much. It needs a new bumper. That’s why I want to swap the LH assemblies but can’t tell how much - if any - of the rest of the bumper has to come off to release that piece.

Kurt Arends , has some of the light bezels and I do also . Best was is to take the whole bumper assembly off to switch parts. But you need to measure the bumper blades , the ambulance ones might be to short . You could cut a hearse blade down to fit a ambulance if needed . I have a a couple of blades for sale . These need work but better than a lot of them out there . Would need to measure your blade to see if these would work for you .$250 for the pair plus shipping if interested.

.Thanks

Thanks so much! That really helps me understand what I need for the hearse.
