The eyes of the world are upon us!

In todays Seattle Times, there is an article by J.David Goodman of the New York Times about the funeral cars used in the North Korean leaders funeral. Half way through the article, Mr Goodman states: " Almost as soon as the funeral procession began, aficionados filled an online forum of the Professional Car Society with giddy speculation over the cars' make, model and modifications." He then goes on to quote our very own Gregg Merksamer who he notes has "written extensively on hearses, ambulances and other so-called professional cars." I can attribute our being noticed by the outside press as a result of last years media frenzy on the Kennedy Navy Ambulance. My point in this post is that what we post on this forum is being watched by the outside world so lets make sure that what we type on these pages is portraying the image we want the rest of the world to have of us, namely a positive one. Once the words are set down on the page, its difficult to take them back.

I do agree with the previous posts. It is nice to be noticed, but it comes with a certain amount of responsibility, too.

the biggest responsibility is to post. to not be afraid to be wrong or have someone else correct you. the information can't get out correctly if you don't put it out. those people that know can then help by offering correction. the give and take is what makes this web site work so well. as the man stated last year "man you guys are polite". had Dr J earlier last year ask on this site about the ambulance rather then on the old one the whole thing with BJ might not have taken place. the key is some needs to put the info out and be willing to let the chips fall. no one know everything about these cars and the companies that built them but each of us knows a little. a little bit from 100 people is a lot. sometimes all it take sis a word or two to tumble out of you more then you thought you knew. so hats off to everyone we are getting there
