Signal 30

I have watched the classic highway safety film Signal 30 a.while back and what intrigued me was the standard of care given by ambulance attendants in 1959 . It was a far cry from today's EMS System where there were no backboards , cervical collars, head restraints , ongoing patient assessment , I.V s being started or radio communication to the nearest hospital . There was no such thing as a trauma center either . It was just " load and go " , where death or disability was the common result .

Working ems some of the pt in the worse condition we transported from the local ER to the trauma center got there first ride in a pick up. The difference in trams centers today compared to 1950 are night and day to.
