Up for sale is this beautiful 1954 Packard Senior Henney Hearse. 1954 was the last year Packard offered chassis to be used by Henney for conversion to a hearse, flower car, or ambulance. I am the second owner of this magnificent vehicle, the first being the funeral home that purchased the Packard new. This hearse is unique in that it does not have the typical table for the casket, but rather has rollers which can be folded into the floor so that this hearse could serve as a multi-purpose funeral home car. The following are the details on the car.
Positive Points:
Totally original and stock Packard-Senior Henney Hearse with 38,283 miles! They're only original once!
All lights, wipers, and signals work as they should including the power antenna!
Three speed manual transmission with working overdrive makes this car a delight to driver both in the city and highways.
Has the massive 359 cid Packard straight eight engine which has been well maintained and tuned.
New radiator installed recently.
Brakes and clutch work as intended.
Turn-key, Drive-anywhere car!
Negative Points:
This is an original 61 year old car with typical scratches and nicks that one would expect - however you would have to look very close to find them.
Tires are older and while they serve their purpose probably should be replaced.
Radio does not work
Gas gauge is fickle
The original fender skirts come with the car - however back when this car was in service it would appear that a tire chair came loose at some point and dented the skirts - hence they have been removed.
Again, this car could be the center piece for someone's collection or could go right back into service as a funeral coach. It is a remarkably well preserved car which draws attention wherever it goes. For more information or for questions please do not hesitate to call Mike at 570-617-2376.
