Youngest Pro Car Owner / member

Good question!! That kind of makes me wonder now also.

I joined in 1993 when I was 19. Owned my first pro car when I was 16 and have owned at least one ever since.

Nice track record there John. I wonder who else has owned a Pro-Car ever since they got their first one, funeral directors excluded.

first professional car

I got my first car in 1992 and I still own it! (see avatar)
Note to Richard: some of us when we get a good one keep it!:yum::yum:

Of course, at one time our youngest member was John Keel. Not sure who is the youngest now.

I attended my first International Meet in 1999 at the age of 19 (Lancaster PA) with Dr. Lloyd, who introduced me to the PCS. I think I joined the same year, but did not purchase a pro car until 2008 when I was 28.

I did get to cut my teeth on Dr. Lloyd's 1959 Superior starting at age 17. One glance at that car, and I was hooked. Then he let me drive it...
I've been sick as a dog with pro car fever ever since!

I beleave our youngest member might be Jonathon Fowers, he is 15 or 16. I think its really great to still see the young guys taking a interest in the Professional Car hobby.

I Joined the PCS when I was 15, and also got my first Pro Car when I was 15. And yes, I still owne it. My 71 Superior combo.

If you send in a membership, put a car in your new sons name, I'm sure he will be the youngest member unless someone else does the same and has a new born within the last couple months or so.

You sort of read my mind Darren. I was thinking Life Membership gifts for all three boys would really be worth the initial cost in the long run.

Tony Karsnia was 13 or 14 when he attended his first PCS meet in Decatur in '88.

The record for youngest professional car owner/PCS member ever is likely Ted Hake. Most of you don't know Ted, he's a Mid-Atlantic Chapter member. As a PCS member, Ted displayed his - yes HIS - ambulance, a '72 Superior Cadillac, at the 1989 PCS International Meet in Gaithersburg, MD. By the way, Ted was 12 at the time. Yes, TWELVE. His parents drove the car, but it certainly was HIS car. He still owns it, and he is still a PCS member.

We always try to encourage young people to join and participate. That's one of the reasons behind the John Keel Award for youthful enthusiasm. While you don't have to be young to be youthful (as proven by Ron, LeeAnn, and Ed ), many others who are youthful are also young.

I was 15 when I got involved with the hobby and started hanging out with PCS people. Then after searching for the right combo for years, I bought my '66 at 19.

In 2004 I bought my first I was 44 years old. Two years later I became the oldest person to receive the Keel Award, I have since then been passed up by a lot of old people much, much older than me. (Boston, Vyse, Renstrom)

Been a lifelong enthusiast, joined the PCS in 1997 at the age of 18 as a Senior in high school. Bought my first pro-car, my 73 M-M Classic Duplex in 2001 and attended my first PCS International Meet at the age of 21. Now 33, owner of 4 pro-cars.:specool:

More than you probably wanted to know...

Having grown up around funeral and ambulance service in a small town, I have been interested in these cars ever since I can remember.

Bought my first pro car, a 1968 Superior Cadillac 51" Rescuer ambulance, in the spring of 1986 at age 14.

Joined PCS that fall at age 15.

It was right around that time that I began actively photographing cars and trading photos with fellow enthusiasts (Bernie DeWinter, Kent Roduck, Dr. Roger White, Walt McCall, Terry Lange, Steve Loftin, and Tom Parkinson.)

Founded the Northland Chapter in 1989 at age 17.

I have owned 12 professional cars (number 13 arriving soon...)

The first pro car I ever drove was my dad's front-line hearse, a 1979 S&S Cadillac Victoria, in the summer of 1985 when I was 13.

I agree with Steve that Ted Hake was the youngest member.

Sarah, Did Joe Sebbio send a membership in for his daughter? That would make her the youngest member ever. I know she saw my car and Joe was going to get her a membership.
