I'm getting the rusted out panels replaced on the stoner. so we peeled back the floor mat and found the build sheet. they just layed it under the carpet

That is the factory build sheet that tells the assembly line what parts are to be installed on the car. It is interesting that it was sold by a dealer in Wabasso MN, and shipped to Stoner in California. I would put that sheet of paper in a plastic liner to preserve it. Usually they are badly deteriorated, and next to impossible to find.

Nice find! Perhaps the original owner was located in MN and arranged purchase through a local dealer.

Scott: That is the more than likely scenario as the chassis was built in GM's Plant at neraby Fremont (CA), going to Stoner in Whittier, then the completed unit to the Dealer in MN.

seen a lot of these tucked under the seat. but this one is impossible to get off the floor. 42 years have taken there tole. but I have layered it to the floor with clear and I'll keep it covered when I do the hot work hope to keep it in place at least. this picture was the before just as found shot. sold thew a dealer in Mn. it's life in the rust belt of southern MN, eastern SD has eaten away the lower half of the truck but she is still a serviceable rig. we don't have them that bad out here in the west but this one for were it came from it is cherry. you just have to make your mind up when you go and do something on it it's change everything from here to here.

Ed, it looks like you almost have enough practice to work on my cars...did you want to restore the 1966 Superior crown royal 3-way or the 1948 Henney Packard 3-way?

we were able to save it. I forgot the wet t shirt look though but it's stuck on good now

Oh my, what an awesome find!

Even if you aren't able to save the original, just having the photo is a treasure!
Digital pictures are a great resource!
