it got so the cupboard was bare and the limo need the oil change for the east run so we went to the big city today and while she was doing the wally world run I went out to get some more stuff for the 68. I'll get that AC working yet. found this old Dodge factory limo in one place and scored some ac stuff in another. then I stoped in to pick up some sand paper and the guy asked me ; you like Hearses right? we have this bumper that been here for a year or more would you like it. he gave it to me so I took it home. not bad huh.

I'll bet that he also gave you a whole lot more than that one piece..... :weneedpics_smi: Did you find the part that I am looking for? Thanks

no luck on a standard alternator bracket for a 62 small block. I could not find a decent boomerang for a 63 ether. some things are just hard to find.

they are hung out and easily hit. then they trap dirt and road salt and get eaten up. we repaired this set of the rescuer but if I could find a spare set cheap enough it would be worth it. but I don't think there is a 63 in the yard just 64s

I frequent a yard in PA that has plenty of early 60 cars, I am pretty sure I know what part you speak of, but if somebody gets me some pics, I can pull them probably in 2 weeks time.

Any tips on removal and tools needed would help. My box usually contains Saab Specific tools.

And does 62 small block alternator bracket translate into the 390 prior to the 63-63 390/429 engine?

Ben... I believe that you have your car brands mixed up. I am looking for an alternator bracket for a 1962 / 1963 Chevrolet small block V-8. The big blocks were 348 / 409 engines in that year range. The 390 is a Ford product. In 1964 Chevrolet changed the exhaust manifolds, and the mounting bracket also changed. This newer design will not work for my 1962. thanks Paul

thanks for the offer to pick up parts and the spar. I have gotten the one for 63 rebuilt and re plated all ready. if I could have snagged a set for little money on this JYR I would have but they would only be spares. the price of steel these old caddys are disappearing fast.

I figured you guys were speaking of cadillacs. Ford did also have a 390 yes.
