How does one find out the correct width for white walls on a 1965 Cadillac limousine? Easier yet, does anyone here know the answer? Thanks!

1965 Would have a three stripe, small, wider and small.
look at page 11 in the catalog. Page also shows widths for more years.

Not only do they show the correct ones, they make them, and are much better quality than Cokers. Ive had mine on my 49 for 8 years now and still look brand new, and I DRIVE my car, ALOt.

I personally think that the "correct" white wall tires that are supposed to go on my car are awful. Yes, they would be correct, but those two thin white stripes are so small, you might was well have a black wall on there. I will forever stick with the 1" inch wide ones that are on there now--not right, but makes the car look sooo much better I think.

But, to each his own. I appreciate the desire to be correct, just don't like the offering for my particular car.....Doesn't that 1" whitewall look better? :D

Those white walls look larger than an inch. The 1.5 or 1.6 inch white walls look great on all mid 60's through 80's cars!

You guys got me, yes, it is a 1.5"-1.6" That's what I meant to say....sharp eyes though people. Either way, ya got what I meant :)

usefull post

yall must be reading my mind. trying to decide what whitewalls to put on the fleetwood and i now have made up my mind thanks to this post. 1.5 it is. thanks shaun. k

American Classic's are a less expensive alternative. They come in a 1.6 inch white wall. I'm not sure if they come in extra load. I had a set of them on a 84 S&S and they rode nice. I didn't keep the car to long so I couldn't tell you how they last long term.

American Classics are what is on my car. As far as how long they last, well, the ones on my car are 18 years old, with around 10,000 miles on them.

With only 10,000 miles on them, they better still be new looking, but the age would worry me a little.
My 49 S&S has DB Tires, they are 8 years old, have around 50,000 and still look as new as when I got them. They are 75,000 mile tires. Plus quarenteed white wall will not turn yellow like most brands.

Alot of people do run the Americian Classics, and I have only heard ONE person with a complaint. They got them through Coker and had problems exchanging them. SHOP around, there are many retailers, but different prices, also some places do not charge shipping. A little shopping can save you a few hundred dollars.

Yep, I know that the age is an issue....and even though it is not something that can really be seen by looking, I do have the tire shop down the street look them over every spring to see if there are any problems with them. As of yet, no visible dry rot or anything, but still no guarantee they won't fail at some point. Whitewalls are still nice and white though, thanks to Simple Green and a scrub brush :D

This is the tire that you should purchase for your limosine... after all, your passengers deserve the best!!!
