Woke up to a car full of water :(

Well it was raining A LOT the other week and I was busy with school but I just went out to the hearse and the windows looked all fogged up... sure enough all behind the passenger seat is full of water :( It does not look like the water leaked in from anyplace I can see. Yay I will be trying to air it out for a while I think.

Not an unusual thing to happen with these old cars. My Lifeliner does the same thing. :smiley3:

Well, unless someone put a hose in your window, you must have a leak.

Most common place for a leak is around the windshield, there are places where water can build up and sit, and eventually rust through behind the trim. The water will find it's way in and follow a support bar or something until it reaches a low spot, then drains down. Also possible around one of the doors if the door rubber is going bad. Or, was a window slightly open?

I was thinking it would have to be the door because there was none on the floor mat in the passenger foot area. It was only back by the spare tire under the divider area. I did not see any of the velvet that looked like water was leaking over it though.

Know someone with a fire truck? Seriously. That's what the local garage does to find water leaks. They borrow our small engine, and spray water on said vehicle w/ a booster hose till it either leaks, or the tank runs dry.

Turn on your defroster on high and witg a damp hand feel around for air blowing out around the doors and windows or take it to the car wash and suds it up. the air leaks will be quite noticeable.
