who makes these lights?

Light year range

Kevin: I have a similar question.... they look like the forward facing red lights that were on our 1954 REO-SWIFT and Boyertown Civil Defense Trucks. Were they made in that era.... early to mid 50's? THX-MM

Peterson Manufacturing, nothing special.

every one of the light company had a set of the housing. they were used as clear for driving, yellow for fog, and red for emergency or add on taillights. put on tractors and fire trucks with anyone of a number of light styles. spot fog or working. some used replacement bulbs with a lens, some sealed beams. you can get them new today. you could get then new in the 1920s. the only thing remarkable is the mount. this set has the drill a hole were you want and twist it till it points in the direction you need and snug up mount.

I just looked at the add. you check you will notice they have two different bases on the lights. on is a flat mount the other is a angle. the angle one at least should have two, one top and bottom so you can tighten up the mount. the flat one you can get away with a large washer. the plating looks to be Ok on them, thats a plus. but all your getting is the light. one would have to decide it it was worth the price to them for that. the slim ones make good grill lights.

Mike, I haven't seen a Swift up close but I have worked on several Boyertown Reo CD trucks. The short answer is.... I don't know. I could never find any markings on the housings but they certainly looked like they were made by Peterson. The lights on the CD trucks were PAR 46; The lights shown here are PAR 36.

Kevin: I think our's (and the very original 1954 C-D versions) were the smaller PAR 36's. I know I got them from the late John Dorgan after he was able to ID them a from original CD photos and comparing pictures of the Boyertown-REO in their museum. Our REO-SWFT now belongs to Brad Boyjiian from Chatsworth. THX-MM
