Who is on DIAL UP

I'm not on dial up, but if I lived a mile or less further down my road, I would be. We also can't get cable on my road either.

Josh

I wAS ON DIALUP UNTIL JUST a few weeks ago. I had to change it when they put the new cable system in. Dial up is going to be discuntinued soon. Got rid of all the coax cable, now everything runs through the phone lines.

not only am I on dial up, but i dont even have a "real" computer. Im still on webtv so I cant open pdf files, see you tube. I only get extremely basic access

Until 2005, dial up was the ONLY internet service available to us, and only by one company. If it had more than 5000 users logged on, over like a 13 county area.. You couldn't log in at all. Prior to like 1997, there wasn't even an ISP listed in the local phone book.

The fire hall has dial up still, because it's free. Every time I have to enter my trip sheet into the ambulance's ePCR program, EMStat 5. I nearly have a mini nervous breakdown. Makes me realize how technology dependent I've become. Although, in my defense, I have five hundred channels on the TV, and only watch Fox, once a week.

I have been trying to convince Rick to get a computer. He told me that he is going to set up a Radio Shack TRS-80, that his neighbor gave him... :yankchain:

I have a dell inspirion 1121 notebook laptop with mobile broad band via sprint and it works fine for what i want to do. and the price's on laptops are low in some application's.

Dial Up?

We finally got dragged into the "naughts" a couple of months ago, kicking and screaming all the way.Now we have high speed wireless, but I still use my dial-up to navigate around.

I used dial up for years, then tried many different wireless providers at my house. We do not have cable here. Recently I switched to Qwest Wireless in my house...love it!

I had Sprint wireless, it is NOT unlimited. My first bill was $1200.00!!! After several phone calls and letters, they discounted the bill to $50 and I cancelled sprint!

So the end result is 2 people with 1 of them changing soon. I think the Dial Up horse is truly dead could someone please get the first call truck to remove the body....

lol!! well, yea, I'm also on Dial-uP! kinda sucks but here in the country I actually have no choice unless I want to spend a lot for satellite! I can't even get DSL!! Phone lines are not good enough for that I guess??!!
Frustrating thing is that FiberOptic cables are buried right in my front lawn!!!
I SOOOO much wish I could just go out there and tap into it!!! lol!!

Dana.
