whitewall tires on new procars?

All of our coaches are late model S&S Lincolns, and all have pencil stripe whitewall Michelins on them. All of our leadcars have blackwall tires, and the limo service we use has blackwall tires on all of their cars...
What opinion do other forum people have about WSW tires on new/late model cars?

I think a late model Town Car or DTS looks CHEAP without whitewalls. An American luxury car should always have them; a European or Japanese one should not. Case in point: a friend recently replaced the Vogue tires on his DTS with blackall tires and the car looks awful and hes now regretting his decision.

Whitewalls

I don't think a professional car looks classy enough without whitewalls. Our 2007 Eagle Lincoln is currently the only vehicle in our (modern) fleet that has them.

A pet-peeve of mine is having whitewalls but not keeping them clean, or spraying tire shine over dirty whitewalls. :myopinion:

I have even been known to show up at PCS functions and be seen cleaning other peoples' whitewalls. (We won't mention any names, Mr. "I just couldn't get that blue stuff to come off!")

Well said.
Hey, why dont you ever clean MY white walls?

Just a note, you should never put tire shine on a white wall, its ok for black, but it can permantaly stain the white rubber.

To put an Also on the tire shine comment: I've always had the shiny stuff put on the sidewalls because #1 I like the look and #2 I figured with our constant Sun here in Cactusland I figured I was protecting the tires...NOT!!!

My pickup has had three sidewall failures just this year which resulted in sidewall delamination. I don't have cheap tires on my truck. While discussing this problem with my Tire store they've told me they're finding that tire dressing+plain old dust/dirt combine to suck the oils out of the tire rubber.

In case you're wondering all the failures occured this year at times prior to the Heat hitting in just plain local driving with no weight considerations.

FWIW
