Where is our senior website administrator?

Robert Shepard

Website Administrator / Past President - Golden St
Super Site Supporter
I spoke with Paul today and he wishes to convey that the power and phone lines to his home are out of service due to the recent snow storm that hit New England. Trees have fallen on the lines and poles resulting in a total loss of utilites. When the poles went down so did the transformers, so he and Sandy may be without services for some time due to the utility and phone companies priorities of restoring services to more populated areas.

The website administration team will be covering day to day operations during Paul's absence.

I was sure I felt a rift in the cosmic forces. I trust you guys can fumble threw it till he is able to take the reins once again. mean time the rest of us will be one good behavior won't we Richard !!!:peek-a-boo:

Last I heard Paul was shouting "Power to the People!"
The loss of power is not the only problem he has to put up with, the trees down around The area are making it difficult to travel anywhere. Travel is so hazardous that some of the towns have postponed Halloween, so what is he to do for his candy supply?:14_6_12:

Thinking of Paul & Halloween makes me visualize Freddy Krueger

I got power back today. Paul literally lives in the woods, it will be a while. Worst storm damage I have ever seen. We had heavy wet snow combined with trees that still have leaves, total mess.

Update from Paul:

The power and phone service to he and Sandy's house should be restored by Monday, Nov. 7th. They still have trees, utility lines and poles down on at least one of the roads that lead to their home.

It's bad here. 30" of WET snow fell nearby. Trees and powerlines down everywhere. My new house has a generator, so life was manageable here. I talked to Paul today. No power at his house or his pet store. Ah, New England!

By the way, Happy Halloween everyone! They finally let the little ones out tonight to beg for candy. Jim

Just spoke to him myself, he's ok, glad to hear your ok too Jim. We were unscathed down on the coast......but it's New England, we'll have our turn.

Paul is pulling the wool over everyone's eyes. He's not suffering in the elements because of a storm. He's actually the keynote speaker for the "Occupy Wall Street" movement! He keeps shouting something about "Down with the establishment" and "No justice, No peace!" :drama:

I'm back

Thanks for all the well wishes, emails, and private messages. We need a round of applause for Dan Herrick and Robert Shepard for keeping the website together in my absence, and especially all the members for not making their job difficult. Thanks again to all. :thankyou2:
The power was restored late yesterday afternoon, however, the power outage took its toll on the oil burner. It wouldn't stay running, and I was too tired last night to work on it. Got up early this morning, and after doing a basic service, it still wouldn't fire. It turned out that the filter inside of the pump was clogged. $1.05 for the new filter, and another hour of time, it is now running fine. I guess that I will now add oil burner repairman to my resume.
Talked to a few members that filled me in on all the posts, so I don't have to read them all. Sure could have used one of those Florida mediums too tell me what was wrong with the oil burner before I started working on it.
The following smileys are now obsolete....

Glad you're back Paul. My son is in CT helping with the cleanup. He works for a tree service here in MI. They were out there when the hurricane went through earlier this year. He tells me that there is a lot more damage this time.

Snow

You know the weather has been great here in balmy northeast Ohio. You New Englanders ought to consider here for your snow bird destinations. :biker:

so far only a vary light dusting out here. it was sunshine and clear skies all week. but glad to hear that things are getting back to normal. by now the trees should be will pruned around there what with a tornado, hurricane and major snow storm. we still got two months left this year to. I would guess a wild fire is the only thing you haven't had this year.

Welcome back Paul. I feel bad for all the damage there, and I do NOT look forward to any snow here. Please do you best to keep winter in your part of the world!

Ya it was crazy out here guys. Paul good to see you got everything back. I just got power back Friday myself. The internet just came back today. The phone yesterday. I am in my early 30's but i have never seen this much damage in my life. There was more damage spread out then the tornadoes that hit last summer. When coming home every night it was like entering the valley of eternal darkness. There was also a fuel problem as there was only a hand full of gas stations with power. Even less that had gas. One hour waits for the ones that did. Life is just getting back to normal know. Crazy stuff guys.
