What became of this 59?

Here is some additional information for people like myself that don't like to click links haha!

Knotts is/was evidently a Halloween "haunt". For 1976, Wolfman Jack was the host. They thought they needed to give people more incentive to come, so they decided to raffle off what appears, to my VERY untrained eye, a 1959 Superior Crown Sovereign (take it easy on me if I'm wrong :D).

The hearse and the casket were detailed and striped by Ed Roth, so i would imagine someone would know or remember something in regards to this coach.

Here's a few pics.

Its my mission to figure out the fate of this coach haha! I know you guys can help! I'm very intrigued to find out if someone indeed won it, and what happened to it. Enjoy the pics!

knotts berry farm is in California, and will again have their 40th halloween haunt, any members in the great state may be able to help,Robert Weston Smith aka Wolfman Jack died July 1/1995.he was one cool dude, and enjoyed every time I heard or watched him entertain,as for the hearse yes someone would have to know who won it.....

Ed Roth was a very close and personal friend of the man who helped me restore the firetruck I worked on for our community museum. I will ask him if he remembers. The old fire truck we restored was originally gold leafed by VonDutch. The city repainted it in 1953 to make it match thier new Mack. If they only would have left it alone. Has anyone else found a rare gem and find out one simple act killed its value?

You guys are awesome! I've contacted Knotts farm. I've also tried to contact the Wolfman History people but there was an issue with their email provider. It may not be maintained any longer or something of that nature. I'm digging tho! I'm hoping someone at Knotts will have some info for me. Seems they are a well documented haunt. My fingers are crossed. Thanks for helping me guys!

And Kenn, I've seen so many examples of people with a rare gem, and cleaned, restored or destroyed it in general, thinking they were doing good when they should have just left it alone!!!

Knotts Haunt

My family and I will be at Knotts Berry farm for their Haunt next week.......
Although the Haunt goes on all of October..the real good stuff happens the week of Halloween....this year Elvira is supposed to be there, along with some special surprises........they even had Ozzy Osbourne one year !! (He didnt really know what was happening I think)....and of course a Gohstbuster car was there......
If my memory serves me correct on the 25th anniversary of the haunt they had POSTERS of the 59 hearse along with Wolfman Jack for sale...of course t-shirts etc etc.......

Im not a firetruck guy but one gold leafed by Von Dutch would be a keeper, all the hot rod guys would agree. As you said too bad it was not left alone.

As for the car on topic I hope the info or better yet, the car is found. I never knew this one existed, Wolfman Jack was somewhat before my time but I do remember him in reruns of some shows. I loved his voice and he seemed like one cool cat.

James you gotta get your picture taken with Elvira and post for those of us that had crushes on her,I realize you will be with your family just tell your family its for the drool dogs in your club.....:3some::3some:

Not to hijack anything, but here is the '84 Superior that made the removal on Robert Smith, aka Wolfman Jack when he died in North Carolina.
In my short (and somewhat misquided) career as a part time hearse salesman in 1995-1996, I took it in on trade...

My friend said he didn't remember Ed doing the 59, but if he did the paint and graphics it would have been before he joined the Mormon Church. He and Ed went back decades. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Ed died in 2001
