Welcome New Member - Bruce Oliphant

Hello to all and thank you for the welcome. I look forward to gaining friends here and sharing information. I have followed the PCS for several years now and really enjoy reading and seeing what everyone is up to.

A little about myself; I have been in public safety for 28 years now as a Police Officer, Firefighter and Paramedic. I am the Emergency Service Director for a bedroom community just outside of Houston, Texas. I mainly handle Emergency Management~Homeland Security and EMS now.

I just purchased my first project, a 1963 Pontiac Bonneville Superior. She's beautiful to me because I can see her potential. However I must admit I'm a little overwhelmed right now. I look forward to getting advice from all of you along with the psychological support that I know I'm going to need.

Psychological support? You ain't kiddin'! Seriously, welcome aboard. We'd be happy to help any way we can. I have a '64 Superior Pontiac hightop as one of my ambulances.

Welcome to our Society Bruce, and please tell us about your car. If you know its history; we may have members who remember it from its service life. Restoration is all about the condition a car is in when starting a project. It would be helpful to know what issues you are facing with the exterior, interior, and mechanical aspects. Photos are a big help, so post a few so we can get a look at it.

The vehicle runs fairly smoothly and the interior is in pretty good shape. The main issue is rust. There is very little if any body damage, all of the glass is intact and all of the chrome trim is there and in good shape.

I haven't figured out how to post the pictures on here yet.

The car came from Virginia and the seller thinks it was originally a Navy unit but I don't think so.

Welcome Bruce, you will get all the help you need here. Good luck with your car, can't wait to see photos, I have a 63 Cadillac Superior.

A huge welcome from us up here in Pennsylvania!

Regardless of the current condition, there is always potential. I wish you all the luck in finding all the information that you need. I just checked out your album and the coach looks good just the way it is. Not a bad car to start on at all. Your 63 Pontiac will be an awesome looking car when you get the work done.

Great to have you and can't wait to see the car in person some time.
