Good luck !!:071:

you make the ankle hitch with one triangle bandage tie another to it around the hitch to tie the leg to the splint. the stick goes threw the ends and you make the windlass out of the ankle hitch. been a long time since I tied the hitch. kind of like putting on the short board with the long belt. practice is all it takes. but really why spend the money for one of them new fangled things any old board will do. make one

When was the last time anyone had a conscious pt.getting traction applied lying on their back, with their hands behind their head,non-medicated,mine were usually half sat up taking swings at me,and exploring the english language for new names for me.

guess in the 1950's people were just happy to have some one help them. now days they expect you to have the Dr McCoy pocket device that you lay on, the lights twinkle and they are cured. free to go about what ever stupid thing they were doing that got them in trouble in the first place.

Ed,
YOU...SIR......hit the nail on the head !!!!

Not only that but I believe the WHOLE EMS system is abused by the public...I had a paramedic/firefighter friend tell me the other day a lady called and said that her husbands hand had slipped on the tablesaw and that she needed an ambulance...so..they went code 3.....when they got there the lady was watering her roses....they asked WHERE IS THE PATIENT ??...she replied "Ohhh he drove himself to the ER".....".BUT I would like a ambulance ride to the ER....I am very upset !!" ...HUH?? did I miss something here ??
As it turned out a neighbor offered to take her bus she said "no" she pays taxes and wants an ambulance ride" !!:pat:
What a blatant abuse of the system ...:myopinion:

Around this area, you pay for an ambulance ride, even if it is a town fire department ambulance. There are no free rides, unless it is in the back of the police car for calling an ambulance when you want a ride to see your husband at the hospital.

If it is within CITY limits....they charge you for the ambulance ride.....
and if it is within the COUNTY the county will pay **IF** the call was placed by PD and you have no medical coverage.....soooooo
a lot of people just call the sheriff or PD and THEN take the ride......it just ties up a lot of police time for medical situations......they change these laws/rules about everytime we get a new mayor or county board of supervisors......:stars:

NEW trick in ontario, people go to the E/R see thats there is a wait time, walk out go to a pay phone and call 911,they figure on a stretcher you get faster service in the E/R, wrongamondie.once triaged, get off the stretcher and walk to the waiting room to wait your turn.and the family member gets to carry this:stupid:
