WANTED-Amber Model 17 Dome

I don't ever recall having seen an amber glass lens. I know that John Dorgan reproduced the clear and red dome lenses, but don't know if he did the amber one also. You might want to give his son a call, since he is now running John's business, and see what is available. If you don't want to call, you can email him through the www.sirenman.com website.

Paul: I had actually had sent an e-mail to John the morning of May 12th before knowing that he had even gone to the hospital asking if he had one. I just received a nice note from Helen Dorgan in this afternoon's mail thanking (ALL OF US) for our condolences. I will send an e-mail to John's Son this coming week in case they have one. Decades ago they were commonly used on tow trucks and state highway maintenance vehicles. We need one for our latest restoration, an X-CDF Diamond T (Fire) Dozer Transport to interchange when needed with the RED GLASS one that's on it now from when it was first "up-fitted" in Chicago brand new. THX-MM

Mike, I stock them new in lexan. Red, amber and clear. Federal still makes the 371L Commander which uses Beacon Ray domes. I have no problem getting them.

Federal listed glass domes in red, blue, amber and clear as late as 1979. They were made by Kopp Glass, which is the company John used. At the time they still had the drefts.
