WANTED 4.1 RWD Cadillac engine

Well I've decided to just replace the engine in my 85 Eureka with another 4.1 vs a resto mod with a 350. The 350 does not seem to be a straight forward swap. Trying to get all the electronics to work in harmony with the 350, seems to be too big an electrical engineering challenge. Besides, its not driven much anyway and to just drop in another 4.1 is easier. Before the flaming begins, I also thought, given the rarity of this car, the 4.1 was also a better choice. PCS bylaws, "restoration and presevation". Need to get it ready for Daytona next year and do not want to take a hit in judgeing.
Any way, looking for a good donor car. Must run GREAT! Looks are not important, of course. Blue velour interior would be a bonus. Prefer drivable of course. Also prefer a southeast location.
Danny, any leads?

Have a 1985 Fleetwood Brougham D'Elegance, parked a couple years due to tranny going out, but motor seemed good. I'm probably a bit too far from you though.

Peter, we'd like to see some pictures of your limo stye Eureka. Do you know anything about it's history?

Keith, it's the beauty that Danny had. I've pursued this car for what feels like forever! Love it...

any reason you can't go there what you have? bu the time you pay fright and get it swapped your guessing on how long it will last. to have some one go threw the engine you have may be a lot cheaper in the long run.

Ed, I rebuilt the engine and the problem is it uses a quart of oil every 25 miles. Some people think my mechanic put the rings in backwards which I have been told will cause this. I think Peter should take the engine apart and figure out what is wrong with it.

I would agree with that. never heard of getting them backwards but I'll bow
to those that know more then me. has to be something simple to have caused that problem. heard of lining up the groves in the rings and weather or not the valve seals were put on correctly. all of that will cause high consumption. but if that's it then a compression check would reveal any major problems. pulling the heads dropping the pan and popping up the pistons would be less money then swapping a used engine. if the vacuum is good a set of rings can't be that bad to buy
