3:00 PM – Visit time at the Hampton Inn lobby or Petke’s home

4:45 PM – Meet at the Hampton Inn lobby and decide where to go for dinner.

5:00 PM – Dinner at ____. We’ll make up our minds that afternoon.

6:00 PM – Depart for Speedway in Lights

Speedway in Lights is an annual event. We drive through the displays and view them from our cars (parking lights, only), winding over the Bristol Motor Speedway and Thunder Valley area. We can go in limousines or you can drive your own car – depends on if you want a photo of your car inside the Speedway. Cost is $12 per car-load (up to 8 people per car).

We end up in the bowl, drive on the apron (but not on the banks, alas!) and can stop there to buy hot chocolate and other stuff and walk around the infield. How long we stay there depends on the weather. We will probably be in line to get into the tour for at least an hour and won’t leave until 9:00 or later. This is a fun tour. Don’t get in a rush – just enjoy the seasonal displays

Whenever: Back to the hotel.

Sunday, December 11

Breakfast at the hotels

Departure for home. Depending on the weather, of course.

11:00 AM – You are invited to join the Petkes at Waverly Road Presbyterian Church if you are interested.

Remember: If the weather turns inclement, you can cancel your hotel reservation any time before 6:00 PM on December 9 (Dec. 10 if arriving on Saturday). Please do not travel if the weather is hazardous. We would rather have you alive for 2012 and beyond than to set any attendance records.
