Up and running

It was the 53s turn to get started up and off the trailer. So charged the battery and got the cover off. We had to prime it as its not been driven since we !oaded it in feb. But she fired right up. Found out the park/ emergency brake will not hold in reverse. So she unloaded her self as the tilt bed went up. I just figured it was eager for a run.IMG_20220916_094301_hdr.jpg

Your rear brakes are improperly adjusted. Remove the drums and check to see if the shoes expand and retract with the application of the parking brake. Most likely you will need to put some slack in the parking brake cable, and then adjust the rear brakes with the brake drum installed. The next step is to step on the service brakes pedal to center the linings and check to make sure that the shoes didn't loosen up. If the shoes are still in close contact with the drum then pull up the parking brake handle 5 or 6 notches and readjust the parking brake cable to pull the brakes into contact with the drum to the point where the drum will not turn at all. Release the parking brake handle and check to see that the brake drums turn without any drag. If all is good, then everything is now properly adjusted.

Yes the steel deck and dusty. She slid off Till the rear wheels hit the grass. I had left it idling. Won't do that again. It was in a safe spot if it did it And the bed as almost up. Next time I'll have the winch in place. But its going to be the first up to get the hail.out so want it up and running for that.

John said he can do it. Most of the pdr people won't work on the older stuff as it's a lot heavier medal then the new cars. We are going to what till this. Fall to let the session get over then he will do the three of them one at a time. The 86 got it the worse again. And it split the top on the 72. I have found a place to get them into so that will help. But the good news was no glass. People eithers side on me lost a lot of that.

Ouch! That is heavy gauge metal, tough to dent, I suspect tough to reverse. Hopefully the talent is there for you.
I have to say it one more time, that Pontiac is a beautiful car.
