Travel plans for the 2011 PCS Meet

I am in the process of trying to figure out the route I should take to go to Ohio this summer. I am wondering how many Canadian folks plan on driving to the meet? If there are a number of us, we could all meet somewhere and drive together for part of the trip and pick up our US friends on the way down. I think that it would be really be neat to travel together.

I do not mind coordinating if anyone is interested.

Thoughts, comments?

If you take the crossing at Niagara Falls, and come down the N.Y. Thruway, you can meet up with the New England / Upstate members and we can all caravan from that point.

I have a couple of options, cross in Niagara Falls or cross in Kingston or do the whole trip via the US going through Maine, and coming out in Buffalo. I'm just wondering who I can pick-up along the way.

I'm just West of Buffalo about 40 miles. Jill and I are planning on going on Monday just because I want to enjoy every possible moment starting with Monday evenings cruise night!! If anybody else is planning on going Monday and traveling thru Buffalo then I certainly would like to meet up!!

Dana Bennett.

If you come South through Maine, then you can keep heading South / Southwest in New Hampshire, then wind up in Mass going through Lowell MA. As you are heading through MA in a Southwesterly direction, you can connect with the MA turnpike and take that to Southbridge MA. From there, you go West on I-84 till it intersects with I-81. Taking I-81 South into PA, where you will again start going West into Ohio. Just keep in mind that all this driving will be taking a toll on your body, more than it will be on the car. When Sandy and I went to the Carnation Meet on the way to Flint, we left early in the morning, and didn't make it to Alliance until late in the evening. This realistically is a 2 day drive for us. It most likely will be a 3 or 4 day trip for you. No matter what way you go, it is a boring and monotonous ride.

Jean-Marc, you may not have the shortest drive to the meet, but by convoying with others, it will definitely make it go a lot faster. It sounds like you'll be able to meet up with some people along the way though. See you in July!

Good news, just got off the phone with the host hotel and they have "plenty of rooms" still available. Don't forget to mention you're with the PCS to get the $69.00 rate. Made reservations over the phone so now it's off to the garage to get the coaches ready!

Hotel reservations....

Don't forget to tell them that you want a microwave and a frig.....although they told me since I was going to be there a week, that it was automatic, but check anyway. Just a little helpful hint here....as far as I know they are free.....

I believe the rooms were all going to have them by meet time but you know how that goes, the best laid plans. Probably best to ask.
