Transportation Needed

Kurt Arends

PCS Elected Director 2021-2024
Well, I thought that I had a really good deal lined up on getting my '75 Superior 54" hauled home from the Memphis, TN area to Council Bluffs, IA. I thought that I was dealing with a trucking company, but it turned out to be just a broker who is now having a tough time getting anyone to bite on the pricing she shot me. Does anyone know of a trustworthy hauler that is headed this way with an empty/partially empty trailer? I have a 22' trailer, but not a heavy enough truck to pull it back that distance comfortably. I have learned my lesson on pulling these things with a half-ton 4x4 pickup! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Disregard my last post. No sooner posted it and received an e-mail from the broker saying that the car was in St. Louis awaiting its final ride to Council Bluffs.

Kurt, don't forget, if you need a truck to pull your trailer, you could always rent a U-Haul truck. Just because it has a box doesn't mean you have to put anything in it.

Steve,
Out here in my neck of the woods,U-HAUL will NOT allow you to pull ANY trailer other then their own !!
They even have a strange size ball on their truck that does not accomadate any other coupler, except theirs.....and it is WELDED onto their trucks...
I found this out first hand .......

Kurt . why don't you go and rent a truck big enough to tow the vehicle. you would probably save money

My limo company uses a company called Capps Van and Truck Rental. They have vans as well as Suburbans and 3/4 ton and 1 ton pickups. I used one of their new GMC Diesel 3/4 tons to pull my 67 Fleetwood to the Cadillac LaSalle Grand National in Florida last year. They have a few locations nationwide.
