Tracked down an old familiar face for the Int'l meet...

Sorry, only had my cell phone with me, but I am going to go back with the GMC when the weather gets better and take some more pics.

Current owner is Larry Robinaugh, a retired EMT (Paramedic?...not sure). I spoke to his son, who showed it to me. Larry is a current PCS member, but I don't think he gets on the message board at all. They are aware of the International meet, and are trying to decide if they want to make the trip in the old girl. I didn't ask how roadworthy it was, but they said they had it in Marysville last year, which is about 25 miles one way, so it's good for at least short trips. They are probably 2.5-3 hours away from where the international meet will be, and I know a lot of people here would like to see it all lit up again!

Let me know when you're going Todd, i'll follow you out with Miamitown. This is out by Bellefontaine isn't it?

What a sharp ambulance, this exact one made me a fan of hightops! It looked great with the "Bucyrus" signage too...

They were trying to de-ice their driveway so I didn't bother asking them to pull it out or anything. They're all car guys though so I'm sure they'll be happy to show it off when the weather gets a little nicer...

Yes, it went from Reeb in Sylvania to Bucyrus to Robinaugh in Bellfontaine.

If it Can't Make it on its Own I....................

I will gladly go pull it there with my teeth! I have seen pictures of this car but lost where it went. Great job Todd  There are going to be soooooo many cars at this meet that people have A. NEVER SEEN BEFORE or B. HAVE NOT SEEN IN PERSON FOR MANY YEARS So it is important to get your reservations in we can book the entire hotel if necessary but we would hate to some of you have to park down the road if we run out of rooms. I think we are limited to under 300 rooms. I am getting really excited about seeing all of these cars and these people many of which are not even on the message board.

I hope Larry and his car can make it. That would be wonderful.

As for the hotel, Ron is a bit off with his numbers. The hotel has 249 rooms. We can use as many of them that are available each night. We are the only convention at the hotel that week, so in theory if we end up filling the hotel, we would have the place to ourselves for the week.

That car was a hit at the 1988 PCS Int'l Meet in Decatur, IL. As soon as Fred & Pat Sparks pulled in, the rig was mobbed by people and cameras. Fred was looking to sell the car at that time and was asking $5,000 for it. I remember the car had over 100K miles on it but was in very nice shape. Fred & Pat were wonderful people. We immediately hit it off and I even got to ride in this beauty.

Fred Sparks (Munz-Pirsntill Funeral Home) bought this Caddy from Reeb where he was once a director and ran in it. There is a picture floating online of a 1967 or 68 Caddy of the same set-up

This is a beautiful pair of cars. The '68 must have been reliable, even with all the "toys" since the '73 was spc'd out the samw way.

My good friend, Larri Dirks, owns a "nicely loaded" 1976 Miller-Meteor combination that is equipped with a manual throttle that enables the car to idle higher when stationary with all the lights going.

Reeb

Does anyone know the history on REEB? They sure seemed to be a 1st class outfit and marked (all available boxes) on their ambulance orders at least! MM

I've always realy liked that car, very classy looking. Thanks for the pics Todd. Hope we get to see her in person in July.

Oh, I do love that ambulance. The photo of it from the side at the Decatur meet is mine. I got some great photos of the car then, that was about the only time when it was sunny and clear for photos at that meet. But that was 24 years ago, so it will be nice to see it again. And take some good photos with the big digital camera.

I wish I knew it was for sale at the Decatur meet, I would have figured out some way to buy it and drive it home.

The coolest thing about that ambulance (well, OK, the three beacons, two Mars lights, electronic and Q-siren, and wide white wall tires are all pretty cool), is the half-vinyl roof. For some reason, I love that, it just gives it a look that is C-L-A-S-S-Y !!!! :specool:
