went to add a quart of tyranny fluid to the 68. put in some of the sea foam conditioner also so worked it threw the gears. put in reverse and noticed some movement. you think maybe I need motor mounts.

I think you should rename the thread "I really don't think it should be doing that" and that is quite dramatic! How lucky can you get that you were in the driveway when you discovered the engine mount, and not on the road. You got a blessing there!

Call the speed shop and purchase a set of safety mounts and don't forget the tranny mount. It is worth the investment in GOLD.

remember buying a 64 olds f85 one time and discovering the motor mounts were bad. in that one if you made a left turn at speed the engine would roll up and pull the throttle open. that was a bit of excitement as I rounded the corner to the driveway off the highway. this one only rears up now in reverse. so the entitlement check will come in ( imagine call your retirement check from a system you were forced to pay into a entitlement?) and we will drop this one off for front end repair and motor mounts.
