they pop up don't they

Maybe Bruce Biliancia (I know I butchered his last name, sorry), can help on this one. He owns one of the LBJ Lincolns, and possibly he knows of any other real ones out there.

In comparing the two photos in the article (one of the guy's car now and one with President Johnson at the front of one of the limos then), they do not appear to be the same car. Besides the different hubcaps, the area around the top of the windshield is totally different- the roof on the LBJ car overhangs the bulletproof windshield and has no chrome trim. On the guy's car, the windshield is flush with chrome trim. Hmmmm?

Still, he has a nice L-P Lincoln from the era.

The gentlemans L P appears to be a stock LP just like the one I had years ago. The LBJ car W/S looks armored (bulletproof). Perhaps the gentlemans car is a fleet support car bought by GSA to follow the armored LBJ car. Just a guess.

I have no doubt that the car (has-had) armor and was one that was down to the LBJ ranch. the disservice to me was comparison of the car to to presidential cars. the articular makes is sound like it was one of that set. but this is how you get things like the navy ambulance mislabeled. now everyone not filmier now thinks one of the cars JFK road in is in Deadwood SD? even if it a 5-6 years newer. just because they pictured in and described how a car not it was rebuilt in the same articular. but then these guys can't tell you the difference between restored and rebuilt either. all the hot rods I pictured last summer to them were restored.

the old gas station turned in to a shop was were I pictures the ElCameo pick up
