Hey Chuck!
Building
John is still dealing with matters related to demolishing his second floor, and all of the cars have been removed. Most of the demolition is finished, however contractors continue to drag their feet. Likewise, the municipality where the building is located, has not decided whether the building should be condemed, nor has the plan to put a roof over the first floor been approved. If the building is permitted to stand with a new roof, John may have to re-do the entire first floor in order to bring the building up to today's building codes. The cost may be prohibitive, so we are looking at other possibilities.
I think that originally, the intention was to remove the second floor entirely and put a roof over the first floor. This would reduce the size of the building causing John to reduce the size of his fleet by 1/2.
Cars
The damaged cars (that are insured) are being evaluated by the various insurance companies. The few that were not insured are being evaluated by the building insurance carrier and some subrogation will take place amongst the various carriers. John has already sold 2 cars that were on his first floor and undamaged by the roof collapse. There are still 3 damaged cars awaiting insurance decisions and the remainder (13) of the damaged cars are being stored where I keep my ambulances, pending disposition.
Photos
Frank Marasco, Tri-State Chapter, Prez has many photos that he's taken over the last 12 1/2 weeks, since the collapse.
He is attempting to post some on this site, but has a techno-phobe about doing such. A plethora of pictures were distributed at the Tri-State meeting on Sunday. I'll check to see if I have any that I can post.
If you have any questions about specific cars, please feel free to contact me at 1800 474-4437, and I will try and pass the info along to John.
Thank you for your concern!
Onward and Upward!
