I put the ambulance with my Kustom car club at the world of wheels show just a couple of weeks ago. A lot of people really liked the car. We try to bring a group of new car every year. Usually one or two in progress, and always some wild stuff to shake them up a little. Hope you guys like.
been waiting for a larger picture of that old S&S. looks like you have a good collection of period correct equipment to go with it. fill us in a little on it. i haven't been to a World of Wheels for some time now the locale rod club quite sponsoring there traveling show here.
Me too, thanks for posting! And what's that right above the windshield in the center, a siren mount? If you're looking for one, I'm sure John Dorgan has a few that would work perfectly there.
It makes me wish I bought this car when I had a chance a couple years ago. I would have loved to have a 49 S&S Londonderry ambulance to go with my 49 S&S Knickerbocker combo.
Yes john it would of been a great pair! " but im glad you did not" Well the holes and stuff above the windshield is for a siren, which i did buy one and recieved it the day of the show so i was not able to put it on, but should be on soon. It was the one i posted the questions on not long ago. The bonus is most of the holes even line up. I have been fixing alot of things on it and aquiring missing parts for it. The guy that had it for sale last had it for many years and did nothing to it, I dont think he had any of the skills,so it was good that he did not dig in. He did spend about 3600.00 with a shop to get it ready to sale. "new tires, clean the gas tank ect" But he really did not have much of a clue about it. He did not even know it was switched from 6volt to 12 ect. My bonus! The interior is not great i remade the door panels and have to change the seat in it. The original was moved back and a truck buckets and console is in it "yuck" Because it has a richmond 5 speed on the floor in it mounted to the 331. it is nice on the highway at 55 its about 1500 rpm ish. nice cruiser. I would also like to know some about the gurney that i bought this year that is by the car. I know it is older but i think on era correct. i will post a picture of it and some info shortly. But that is a little info on it. And the world of wheels car show the have been putting in on for 40 plus years or so around here. They asked me to run it this year but i do not have time to do it. But they usually have a nice mix of cars. mine was the only pro car, and i dont remember any in many years that is always a shame. if any more questions just ask. Rocky
it is a removable one. a 24 I wouled say. but it's a old one with the front kicked up like that. that was there first generation with that rail shape. I can't say when they first came out with the 24.
