Since owning the Criterion it has always been a two-man operation to open the hood or use a block of wood as a wedge to keep the cable tight. As Danny and I were opening the hood he says, "You know what the problem is don't you?" to which I reply, "Yes, the cable needs adjustment". He says the spring is compressed that opens the hood and if I were to extend it out a bit it would correct that issue.
So this morning as I was doing a little cleaning on the Criteron I grabbed the spring and extended it out a bit and guess what? You guessed it, the hood pops open as it should now.
Yeah Danny!! Thanks for the advice.
