Superb Meet in Wisconsin!

Tony Karsnia - Deceased - 1971-2020

September 12, 1971 - November 2, 2020
Kim and I arrived home this afternoon from a most enjoyable weekend meet in Prairie Du Chien, WI. The Horseless Carriage Club of America, in conjunction with the Villa Louis mansion and estate, hosted a car show. It wasn't just any car show, however, because Northland Chapter member Chuck Kramer stepped up to the plate and invited a few PCS chapters AND a few regions (chapters) of the Cadillac & LaSalle Club to participate.

What we experienced was some wonderful small-town hospitality from Chuck, his wife Linda, and others who helped coordinate this event. Friday and Saturday evening dinners were delicious; lodging was first-rate; and Saturday was a perfect day, weather-wise, for a car show.

By the time the cars were in position on the grass at the Villa Louis on Saturday morning, there was a sea of gorgeous cars; mostly Cadillacs and professional cars! The Northland Chapter showed up in full-force, including Chuck & Linda Kramer, Virgle Onnen, Larri Dirks, Paul Saether, and Kim & Tony Karsnia. (As an aside, you may remember that our '67 Miller-Meteor Cadillac Paramount combination was a mother's day gift to Kim from the kids and I. Well, she proudly drove it to her first car show - that SHE entered a car in - in Wisconsin this weekend!)

Our sincere thanks to Chuck & Linda Kramer, Doug DeVries and his staff (Thornburg-DeVries Funeral Home), and the staff of the Villa Louis mansion for making this a fun and enticing event that we intend to make an annual PCS FALL TRI-CHAPTER TOUR.

Here is a little photo session for you. (Tony Karsnia photos)

What is the history of the black 1956 Cadillac Limo?

looked like a lovely day on the river.. miss going threw Prairie De Chien on our way to the kids. we can cut about 100 miles off by ducking south in Ia so been going that way. glad Kim got to bring her car. be nice to get back over there to see it.

The '56 Derham is owned by CLC member, James Pittman of Des Moines, IA. Gorgeous car. I do not know the details of the car's history.

This was one of two coachbuilt Cadillacs brought by CLC (non PCS) members. The other was a 1941 Imperial limousine, owned by Duane & Linda Warren of Maple Grove, MN.

This was the 1st Villa Gathering of Cars. The Villa people are hoping this will continue to grow each and every year! We want to encourage ANY and ALL Makes to attend. It will be an Annual Event, scheduled for the 3rd weekend in September. The weekend prior is always Carriages and Horses, hence this show was billed as the Horseless Car Show! Hope to see many of you next September in Beautiful, Historic Prairie du Chien. The 2nd Oldest Community in Wisconsin right behind Green Bay!
