Stubborn drums on a '65 superior hearse

Hello gentlemen, I've been a hearse owner for a long time. My first was a 1969 superior cadillac combo. My next is a 1965 cadillac superior. It's time to do the brakes and I'm having the hardest time trying to remove the rear drums off the axle. I really have tried everything. Drum pullers, torch, port-a-power, etc. The shoes were backed off. Yes, i did take the nut off too. What am I doing wrong?

You need a large drum puller, and a big hammer to hit the arm with a big hammer. Make sure that you have the nut on loosely, so when it does come loose, it doesn't hit you. Be careful that you don't damage the threads or the axle. On my Chrysler someone destroyed the axle trying to get the drum off. I had to replace the entire differential because I couldn't find an axle.
