STILL NEED HELP FINDING A WINDSHEILD for our Caddy

So far our biggest hurdle is not finding a windshield for our 1952 Superior Cadillac We found a brand new in the box Cadillac DW 147, said to fit and its too short in height by 3" We're told Cadillac only made 3 - windshieldS for that year all 17.5" in height or shorter

We found a Superior PART # for the windshield, but nothing to cross reference it too.. Superior Co. or AccuBuilt TODAY has records only going back to 1981

If there are miracles, now's the time

Thanks so much John & the BUILD TEAM

and yes the peeps who dismantled the vehicle TOSSED THE damaged windshield before we could say something

it's a standard glass. I'm guessing you got one for a convertible or hardtop they were shorter. get the hight measurements for a fleetwood 75 or a 4 door sedan. you can try these guys in Origon 1-800-624-2130 WITH ANY QUESTIONS AT ALL. they seam to have stuff.

the only one with rear vet is the factory limo. so the standard sedan must use a different glass. still can't get use to typing in the goggle search. my oldest glass book only goes back to 71

The windshield should be the same as the large 50 to 53 Cadillac sedans and 50 to 53 Buck super Model 52 and Roadmaster Model 72R. I have an old Hollander Manual that I will check for the NAGS number but can not do it till Sunday due to my not being at the yard. Suggest someone check Google for NAGS numbers. Pete

what does a rear vent have to do with the windshield?

Gentlemen, Mr. Gopoian states in his original post that he already has the DW147 '50-'53 Sedan windshield and that it does not fit his Superior coach. That part # is for the windshield that fits the Series 62 Sedan and the Fleetwood 60 Special Sedan. The "rear vent" refers to the rear quarter vent windows in these sedans, like so -

The 1950 and '51 Series 61 Sedans do not have rear vent windows...

The Series 61 Sedans (and the equivalent Buick model) of that era also have a unique windshield and I believe that is the correct glass for a '50-'53 Commercial Chassis car.

got to quit doing things at night I guess I though I had the exchange number in there. here they are .

50-52 4dr 60-62 & 75 is a 867
50-51 4dr 61 is a 851
51-52 cpes & conv is a 855

use these number for the reference page above to get the cars that share the same glass. sorry I don't have the NAGS numbers.
the question comes up on how your measuring the glass opening? did you put the grommet in the opening and with it closed trim in measure from inside to inside center of the opening or did you measure across the pinch weld? we know it's a standard glass. they did not use a commercial glass untell 59. it has to be one of the models above. normally your coupe and convertible are the shortest glass.
