Southeastern Chapter at Darlington

Well, with a title like that it seems we should have one of those Movietone news reels to go along with it! Relatively new PCS members Jim & John Ramsey invited us to the Friday night race in Darlington, SC yesterday. I was too tired to post some photos last night when I got back so here goes. Their company's clubhouse is right behind the main grandstand and we had a nice five-car lineup: Jamie Boles brought three hightops, the Ramsey's '76 Lifeliner and my '67 Superior Crown combination. We lit them up after the race which brought many thumbs up from passersby. A funeral director from Cape May, NJ asked me about my '67, saying he remembered when such cars were in service. The hour ride over to the track was mighty hot (95 plus) but it was nice and cool riding back last night-I had the windows down and didn't splatter too many bugs either  OK, I don't know how to get captions under the photos, so : #s 3 &4- Chris & Mary; J.R., Sam, Meg, and Glen demonstrate the suitability of Superior and M-M hightops for picnicking; 5- Jamie & Glen Boles

Southeastern Chapter at Darlington II

Five attachment limit, eh? Here's the other 5 of the 11 photos I took. I'm supposed to be getting some more via email, so will add them when they arrive. I'm not sure what the white circles in the first few photos are-probably dust particles as Rusty Wallace's helicopter had just taken off less than 100yds away. Hmmm, my camera's clock must not have adjusted to EDT as this was more like around 10 last night Last photo is of chapter members Jim Ramsey and Steve Abbott. Thanks to the Ramseys for a fun evening!

Five attachment limit, eh? ........

You may add additional posts to this thread with additional attachments. The attachment limits is to keep the system from bogging down and causing people with a dial up connection to have time out problems. I have merged your two threads together since they are all about the same event...
Thanks...

I've always said you guys have great looking cars down there! Have any more photos of Ramseys Lifeliner?

I have been specifically requested to limit the number of Miller-Meteor photos per post for fear of causing too much "T.K. excitement" If you can guarantee a supply of oxygen or brown paper bags (for hyperventilating) we might be able to increase your "M-M P" limit! Actually, I might have a few more of their car at home.....wait a minute, I just thought of something.......

Tony, you're in luck! I remembered that Jim Ramsey brought his Lifeliner over to Camden last year after it got painted, so I figured I probably had the pictures on the laptop. I just hadn't downsized them for email/posting yet:

Is that '74 Professional an ex-New Jersey car? It reminds me of one an ex-PCS member had at the 1989 meet in Gaithersburg, but I can't remember the owner's name.

Steve, I don't know the complete history of that car, but Pa. seems to stick in my mind as to what's on the S&S plate. I first saw it in the 90's in Atlanta when Joe DiCorpo had it. It was originally two-tone blue.

74 s&s

Steve,

I believe you are referring to the Professional 55" formerly owned by Craig Stewart. He displayed that car at several PCS Int'l Meets. Like your former '74 S&S, Craig's car has been out of circulation for some time. This one Jamie Boles has is a different car.

Great Pictures John

Hey John,
I'll 2nd Keith Snyders request to see additional pictures of your Superior Crown combo. Impressive line up.
