All of my pics from the meet are now online, so feel free to check them out. I took the train to Albany, so there's some train pics that I took on the way too. You can find all of my meet pics here.

Also, here is a video that I took of Saturday's sound and light show.

Thanks to everyone involved in making this meet a great one. I had a wonderful time and I can't wait for next year. See you in Ohio!

Over 9 minutes!! Wonder how many 911 complaints were made?:stop:
As technology gets better, can't wait until we can have this in Hi Def with 5.1 surround sound!!!!!
A hearse guy, jealous of all the toys the ambulance guys have.

THANX for sharing!

You're welcome, Peter! I was hoping to shoot it in HD. I couldn't find my Flip HD video camera though, so I had to shoot it on my regular picture camera instead.

All EMS newbies should look at this video because this is all about EMS history and where it started from . I was born in San Frncisco in 1962 and was pretty familiar with the local private services and their Cadillacs and the wagons used by the Department of Public Health Ambulance Service . If you paid close attention the mob hit scene at the Douglas Hotel on San Francisco's Embarcadero in the first 30 minutes of " Bullitt ", you'll see how patients were handled by the ambulance stewards back then . Who's unit is that with the siren at 4:40 into the video ? It sounds much the same as what SFDPH had on their ambulances during the late 50's to early 70's when they all went electronic with their new Dodge Type III Mods , and got comfy wheeled gurneys with the multi position feature . Idaho did not officially have an EMS system until 7 years after the fact in 1973 , and only had a handfull of private and county owned ambulance services . Most were ran by funeral homes , the last being Bergin Funeral Chapel in Shoshone , Idaho that went out of the ambulance business in 1984 .

still waiting

I am still waiting on the report from the Albany airport. A plane came in over the parking lot while we were having our fun...lights and sirens. You know someone on that plane was looking out a window wondering 'what in the blazes is happening down there and here I am heading right for it"!
I had a wonderful time and hope everyone else did too. Great people and great cars, how could we NOT have a good time?
Mike

I just have to comment Sarah, "That was FANTASTIC!!". I'm already very excited about the Ohio meet hoping to bring both rigs and having the "Q" on the Criterion. Damn! A Federal Interceptor, Double-Tone, and a Q2B-it will scream!!!!! Batteries beware-You're Dead!!!

Thanks Sarah! That's great for those of us who couldn't attend the meet. A few cool things I noted during your video: particularly good tunnel lights on Dan Skivilocke's '59 Superior and Steve Lichtman's Henney Junior, the tunnels and sirenlight flashing together on Dawson Blackmore's DeSoto, and is that an early model Federal electronic on el Presidente's '64 M-M? Looks (and sounds) like great fun, as always.
