...or under my vehicle, as it were...
(No, I didn't find a vintage Cadilllac high-top ambulance in my neighbors barn...)
I've been keeping the feelers out for a good deal on a set of nice, heavy duty whitewall tires for my ambulance for quite some time now. Today, while puttering around the garage cleaning some things up, I noticed something...
I have the "stock" wheels and tires off the ambulance right now, for whatever reason, and I happened to take a close look at one while I was moving it out of the way. A little scrubbing revealed this:
Looks like the previous owner already had a set of whitewalls on there, mounted backwards. It appears that he somehow "blacked out" the whitewalls as well. I say this because there is a well-defined area where they are, and I can reveal them with just a little scrubbing with a scotchbrite pad (no angle grinder work here -- I know all about that trick...)
It's going to take a little work to get them looking nice, but hey, the price is right!
