It has been a little slow on the boards lately with exciting finds or photos.

Please spruce it up a little with some pictures, restoration photos, stories or finds.

WE NEED PHOTOS !!!

Darren, would a never before posted 45k mile 100% original '59 Superior Royale Landaulet ease your perceived lull? I'd not seen such a gloriously untouched existing '59 hearse previously. Check out these drapes!

Why not take some yourself and then post them?

A fairly recent hearse purchase of mine... I bought an original factory photo of a 1920's Rolls Royce hearse from a seller in England, and afterwards, I asked if he had any more. Turns out his grandfather and father ran a funeral home, and that photo was one of the ones given to his grandfather when he was looking to purchase a hearse. I also found out the photo was one of 22 different ones he had. I ended up buying the lot :)

In the collection are mostly late '20's and early 30's hearses. Most on RR chassis, but some on Buick, Packard, and Austin chassis, and there are about 7 coachbuilders represented. Most are original factory photos, and a couple are post cards.

Anyway, here is one of them. This is an Austin built by John Marston's Carriage Works.

Folks have purchased pro-cars, they just haven't gotten around to photos and announcements yet. Maybe they don't have the car in their possession yet. Never can tell!!!

If someone would buy my 88 Town Car, I would have money to buy something else! It might not be a pro-car but it would be something cool....at least to me!

Steve

I will get around to taking some photos of my own stuff next week and will post them.

Russell

You holding out on us ? Didya buy something ? Or just know others who have ?

Rick

I showed your car around. Just too far away from an interested buyer in NJ.
I tried for ya.

Great photo of Terry's unique Oldsmobile front end !!!

Nice interior shots Attila !

Cool finds Adam !

What's up with the W in front of the word ambulance Ron ?

Paul, I remember that long and low '69 sitting in Dwayne's garage at one of his spring BBQ's. Nice to see it again.

Thanks for posting everyone,
Darren

P.S. Keep 'em coming !

Well, here's my GMC/Christopher in the same resto shop that did Kevin Lynch's Ford/Seiburg. Yes, it's . . . ewwwww . . . . a truck, so let the slamming begin. Came from Johnny Carson's hometown. It's now in primer. Yes, that's a fire . . . truck . . . behind it.

Jack: Sweet! Looks like she is finding a new life. We look forward to further updates.

Jack ! Thanks for the photo ! I hope you post more photos as your restoration continues.

It is really as shame that a line like the one above even has to exist.

It would be in bad taste in my opinion to slam anyone's preference in what they like and are restoring. Many of the garages of PCS members include non-procars and some box type truck ambulances.

Just because it is not a car ambulance doesn't mean there is no interest in seeing this vehicle being restored. I certainly enjoyed seeing the photo.
I am sure many others did too. Actually, with the "thanks" it got, others did enjoy seeing it as well.

I would also hope that the slamming, if any, would not happen.
It wouldn't help in anyway and would continue to give the PCS a bad name.

Yes, the club is car based but many members also enjoy everything else automotive related.

Trains, Motorcycles, Boats, Planes, Trucks, Snowmobiles, Etc are many other things PCS members enjoy beside the procars I know for a fact.

My 5 cents,
Darren

P.S. Canada has eliminated the penny so the smallest value coin is now a Nichol. No more can we give our 2 cents, unless we still have some a home in a jar.

"What's up with the W in front of the word ambulance Ron ?"

Firefox Equipment in York, NE was driving the '73 Superior 61 being traded in back to their shop after having delivered the "new" ambulance to its new home in Hayes Center, NE. They blew the R/F tire on I-80 and slammed into a bridge or guard rail which damaged the R/F fender. It was then given the nickname "Wambulance" when driven in a local parade, according to the folks at Firefox.

. . . and your fire truck too!
Being restored for a fd in VA.

My "slamming" statement is based on comments I've heard at gatherings, from members & onlookers, akin to the prejudices against caskets, flames, rods, etc. I don't know how anyone can bad-mouth Jamie Boles' GMC, but I've heard it. There are comments about the rough ride vs. patient comfort & the lament of truck chassis taking the place of limos. I regret that too, but the required ambo equipment won't fit in an enlarged station wagon. Even if it would, not very likely the taxpayer's gonna put up with their tax dollars buying Caddys. And how unfortunate the minimal comfort provided to those who staff the Type III cut-away van ambulances, particularly where they must sit their shift roadside, awaiting dispatch. So, along wih the misplaced "Ghost Buster" moniker, the "Why-do-you-drive-THAT!?", and all the other nonsense, the owners of truck chassis-based rigs count somewhere between Michael Richards and Paula Deen. Your mileage may vary.

Since I can't add a picture to my original post, here's what's left of the original passenger-door lettering. At one time it said, "Norfolk" (NE).
