Some Saturdays are better than others

Tom Hoczyk

PCS Past President
The pictures below were ALL taken this morning, Saturday 10/16. My 1960 Eureka is finally being painted the correct color green, after I made the mistake of trusting the painter's eye and not "proofing" the shade of green. A year ago, the entire car was painted, but about 4 shades too dark. This morning, I was able to see the top half of the car, painted in the correct shade of green. As I type, the lower half of the car SHOULD be being sprayed. I keep my hopes high of having the car in my hands before Christmas.

The next photos show the completely rebuilt engine of my '39 Eureka LaSalle carved panel hearse. Virtually all interior parts of the engine have been replaced with Egge parts, and it looks even better in person than the pictures show.

Lastly, still of procar interest, is a car I was able to ride in this morning, a 1915 Riddle. Yes, the same Riddle who made hearses in Ravenna Ohio. I'm told this car is the only one left like it, and it's for sale, as the owner has his eyes on a Page.

On the downside, neither the paint job nor the engine rebuild were Christmas presents. Oh well...... I'm still happy.

That green looks very much like 1966 Cadillac Firemist Emerald Green..

almost

Tom,
That green looks almost like the green that was on a Travelall I owned years ago. If I ever had a green procar it would be this color too. Like Sarah, I hope you will bring it to Ohio in 2011.
Did your mechanic have a good time at Hershey?
We did.
Mike
