Shes Baaaaak....64 Ambulance

I don't understand why this car has not sold yet. The body looks very solid. It does need floor boards, but they all do when they had rubber floor mats. I would swap the Guardian lights for a pair of Ful-Views in front. Is the seller difficult to deal with or something??

would you give 5 grand for a none operation car in need of full restoration? will apparently no one else wants to either. being as it a miller I would love to take it on but I don't have a mustang to trade. all I need now is one more car in need of full restoration in my driveway to go with the other 3.

I paid 1K for an excellent running car that only needed some minor restorations.. I paid much, much more for the missing equipment. That's the deal of the century but Ed is right, I would not pay 5K for a project that need that job on it, except if the car have a local history or this kind is specifically needed.. or if Im rich enough to have it made by someone else..!

At least the seller add some interior shots this time. The trade is a good idea but it depends which shape he considers a mustang should be to worth the ambulance..?

Yes, but an "excellent running what"?? You do need to compare apples to apples. For example, excellent running 1990 front wheel drive hearses are "a dime a dozen" and really nice examples can be easily had for $1000 any day. Any early '60s ambulance is a rare bird, especially with a relatively straight, rust-free body. I seriously doubt that this guy is firm on his asking price.

I think with the economy still in the dumps, it'd be hard to get someone to buy this and spend the money on the restoration. Sad - it does look like a nice car, and I'd keep the Guardian lights front / Ful-Vu lights rear just to be different.

now no one has said the car is not worth restoring. it's just not in my opinion worth the asking price to me were it is located, nor worth haggling.
you want 5 for the car and want intrested buyers, get it running and post a vido of you driving around the block in it. that way I know if I show up with a trailer I can at least load the car. paying 10 for one all ready to go would be a lot better buy then starting out at 5 and shipping. if a man was locale and the buyer is intrested in selling then haggling would be in order. but how can you haggle over something you haven't seen. but thats just me. if I posted a car for free come get it I could not get rid of one.

Yup, One a time I travelled more than 800 miles for a "running" 60's police package... and realised in the driveway of the seller that the car was rusting in his backyard since 1974... He then told me "well I meant you can run with it on a towing".. &?%
That's why I dont trust pictures and ads now and I buy what I see.
