Is there anyway to research a vehicle by a serial number?
We were tooling around in the fire hall trying to fix a garage door opener, during a thunderstorm on this breezy warm December night... and wondered what was in the bottom drawer of a radio cabinet in the room. Upon prying it open with a wreck bar... it appeared that it hadn't been opened since about February 1972. Something had impacted it, bending the lock, thus sealing it. Anyhoo, we found an insurance quote for the ambulance service, which was run by the American Legion from '51-'77; before becoming an independent association. The quote was for 1956, $38; on a 1941 Buick Ambulance, Serial Number C8917065. Is there any way to research that SN to find details on the specific make, etc?
