Same seats ?

Found this side pic of seats in a 73 Cutlass Supreme for sale on Craigs. Looks identical to the seats in my 73 MM. Did MM use any seat that was available or was there standard GM seat ?

Hard to know for certain unless you find another Miller Meteor that has bucket seats in it, with the same pattern. The basic bucket seat was used in many of the GM divisions front seats, with only the top covering changing. As an example, in the 1970's GM introduced swivel bucket seats, and they were used by both Superior and Miller Meteor. The basic seat frame that is used in my 1969 Miller Meteor Cadillac is the same as was used in the high end GM full sized cars, such as the Olds 98, and the Buick Electra.

While we are on the subject of seats,
The Santa Cruz Superior ambulance that I was parting out had 1969 Chevelle buckets in it.

I thought that they may have been added at some later point but the mounting brackets seem to be the originals and there was no indication of a previous install.

If they are original, then the bolt anchors will be welded in. If they are replacements, you will find holes in the sheet metal floor, with bolts, washers, and nuts holding them down. In some years, there is actually a separate metal strip that goes on the floor prior to the buckets being installed. It isn't as easy as just drilling some holes, and bolting them down.

Yes, I will attest to the fact that GM buckets are a pain in the @$$ to retro-fit! You have to cut the original brackets off of the floor of the donor car. I wasted a lot of time and effort salvaging the factory power buckets and console out of a '63 Sedan deVille only to find that there is little demand for them because they are such a pain to retro-fit.

Sure looks all the same to me. I used to want to put buckets in my first coach but ive come to realize thats one funky look for some reason

as Paul stated same seat different mount. these people were masters at swapping GM stuff with there shop made parts to get something. so were the basic seat might be the same all the hardware will be different. Collins used the slides out of the manual seat in a FWD sedan De ville for the center seat in they 89 6 door. when I got that one the tracks were worn out. i swapped the passengers set in my H&E for one with power and the manual tracks were what I need for the Collins. they got vary inventive on these cars
