Real '50s style linoleum!

Kurt Arends

PCS Elected Director 2021-2024
I stumbled onto 2 rolls of real linoleum today that would be absolutely perfect for a '50s, or possibly '40s, ambulance or combo. People use the term "linoleum" very loosely when referring to what is really vinyl. This is true linoleum that has the color all the way through and has the jute mesh backing. One roll is what I would call a mottled rust color and the other is what I would call a mottled mint green color. These rolls are 6.5' wide and God only knows how long. I have not purchased them yet as I didn't have a way to deal with them today. This stuff is incredibly heavy! Real linoleum is realistically 3 times heavier that vinyl flooring! I did not get any photos yet. There is probably enough linoleum in each roll to do 2 or 3 ambulances(or combos). Let me know if there is any interest. Shipping would be rediculously expensive due to the weight and I would prefer not to ship it anyway. This is the real deal, if you are doing a '40s or '50s combo or ambulance!!

This is more of a deep rust-red, but it may work. I'll get photos posted right away when I get it picked up.

I stopped back to check on this real linoleum this past week and found that there was also a roll of medium blue in the same marblized finish. I took a couple of photos with my cell phone, but the photos are really only a good representation of pattern, not so much color. These 3 rediculously heavy rolls are at the Habitat For Humanity Thrift Store in St. Joseph, MO. Price per roll is $50! Each roll probably has enough to do 3 coaches, but I am not willing to deal with them myself. Way too heavy and too much hassle. I will try to get the photos that I took loaded. Again, these would be perfect for a '40s through '58? ambulance or combination.

Excellent!

Kurt,

I too am looking to replace the floor in my '57 MM Classic Ambulance, if possible.

Please advise when you have photos!

Thanks!

Over and out!:D

Sorry folks. Can't seem to get any decent photos that show the marbled design or good color. Don't know what to tell ya.
