Rain in Piqua

Ron Devies

PCS Ohio Chapter President PCS Past Vice President
Despite being a little soggy, despite a blowout, a tow, leaky radiator caps, etc. Piqua has been good. I have to get a couple tires mounted in the morning thanks to Tom Caserta and have them check to see if Goober busted anything while towing it as there is a rub when you hit a bump oh and a radiator cap and we will be ready for the return trip. There are some gorgeous cars here and the book is outstanding.

Ron was first

Ron was first to post something about the 4th Miller-Meteor Reunion. The rain did not dampen our spirits. The book signing and lecture went smoothly. The lecture was very informative. The book is great.
Some new faces and coaches in the mix this time around. That is always a good thing. New stories and new friends.
We will see what the morning brings for Saturday. Tom Caserta wants us to start getting parked in the downtown parking between 8 and 9am. Maybe an early start but promises to be another very good day for us. We have people from Alabama, Georgia, Wisconsin, New York, Tennessee, Ohio of course, and Canada. Oh yeah, and one ol curmudgeon from one of them new england states. He was from there before it was a state.

I had a blowout on the way there and had to get towed into a tire shop in Mansfield as my spare was flat as well as it was a bias ply and all my tires are radials. Well the tire shop did not have my size tire but put one size smaller on to get me there. Apparently it was small enough that every time I would hit a bump it would make a grinding noise so I made the rest of the trip waiting for something else to happpen. Upon arrival I was spitting antifreeze from a faulty radiator cap. The good news is Tom Caserta being the great host he is had two new white wall radials of the appropriate size waiting for me. Other Miller Meteor welcomers showered our car with presents as we arrived. Of course a can of Fix A Flat and Genuine Miller Meteor Factory Suction Cups Part number MM-00830
We went down town for the big tadoo and I fell in love many times and tried to buy many more cars that no one would sell me. Today the Sears Blue Team got my tires on, my grinding noise went away and my car looked as good as everyone else's downtown on display. It was a great meet

started with rain

The 2010 Miller-Meteor Reunion started with rain. Friday was an on again off again day. It would pour down or be a slow steady rain then stop. Just when we got to thinking it was over it would start again. Saturday started off with gray skies and wind. But the sun did come out and it was a great day. See Jerry's pictures in another post. We had hearses, combinations and ambulances on display near the library in Piqua. Saturday afternoon a few of us went to the Clark Ave home of Miller-Meteor. I think Jeremy may still have the prize of our impromptu tour.
Lots of picture taking in the parking lot of the motel.
Now if we can just find some more M-Ms for the next reunion.
We know we had a good time...it was over, too soon.

Just a brief report for now. Sharon and I had a great time, and got back to Galion at 3 this p.m., exhausted. The '76 Lincoln ran nicely both ways. Some hotel guests with a sports group of some ilk complained about the train noises during the nite, but George Tsiatsios from New Hampshire and I ate up evry delicious moment of train music. If you haven't met George, you are in for a treat. Tom Caserta did a great job with all this. And, then, there was, uh, Steinberg. Well. A goodly bunch of people all around. And Ron is already driving the "new" '64. Galion out................

how fast they catch on

Jim,
You catch on quick! We have been saying 'and then there is Steinberg' for sometime now. Glad you and Sharon had a good time. Hope to see you at more PCS meets.
