The narrow wire is the brake

Can you see the brake? Both will have to have their own fuse, with the proper amps. Good luck!

about all your looking at is a starter motor with a big fan on one end. the brake is a rubbing block that is pushed forward with a solenoid when power is applied to it. they draw a ridiculous amount of amps to operate. that of course is why all the sparks fly when you do the temporary test. they get away with the momentary power on to apply the brake as there is so much drag that it won't roll over by it's self going down the road.

Testing 1-2...1-2

Just wanted to THANK everyone for their input on testing my Q2B.....

It certainly worked well.........best part is She works GREAT ,even the brake....
certainly worth the LOW LOW LOW price I paid.....
Now to get it mounted and wired.....
Thanks again !!:thankyou2:

You may find it might cost as much to get it mounted and wired as what you paid for the unit.

Best of luck and when mounted, do a vid and post for us.

Well I think I lucked out in that department.....it will be going to a local electric shop that wires cars for most northern Calif law enforcement agencies including CHP....have been in business since 1936......
Now if I can just get an appointment...they are currently doing 2013 CHP units as they are delivered from Ford (Ford F250's- with snow plow package/tow packages) for Sierra service......
They told me it wont be more then $225.00 ,shop rate is $90.00/hr...
so we shall see......:snow2_smi:

That would be an EXCELLENT price. The "Q" was $450 and the 28 behind the grill was $500 but that included him making a mount for it. Make sure he mounts the solenoid under the hood. The one for the "Q" in mine is mounted under the dash and when you hit that button, DAMN it makes a clunk noise.

man I wish I was closer to either one of you

LOL......ohh trust me Ed...we wish you were closer also !!!!

By the way, regarding the solenoid for the Q...what do I need to look for ?? Manufacturer, part ?......who would make it ?

I like to get all the misc stuff.....so when they work on it EVERYTHING is there and ready to go.......

They mounted my Unity spots and one of the shafts needed to be a bit shorter..so "I" had to order one from Unity (and they are a UNITY dealer)...and it set the mounting back almost 3 weeks because Unity had to make one first....

anyways thats why I like to get everything beforehand....

I would appreciate it......thanks Ed !

the shop putting it in doesn't have it? a continuous duty high amp one is nessary. the one thing you don't want to save bucks on. nothing like having it stick close to make you wish you had never put that thing up there.
