Police Officer Jared Francom 1981 ~ 2012

I dont know if this is the right forum for this but I wanted to share the video of the officer we recently lost in Jan. He was serving a warrant when he and 5 other officers were shot. He was the only one fatally wounded. We will always miss and remember him.

No amount of words can express the sorrow of the family, community, and the people of this great nation in the loss of this officer. May he rest in eternal peace.

what compounds the loss is the unnecessariness of it. service a routine piece of paper work. we talk about soldiers returning from War with PTSD. this is the kind of things that cause that. one thing to remember when you have your next professional encounter with a law enforcement office. the officer is doing a high stress job don't compound it.

Last Radio Call

That runs chills down my spine when I hear that. It used to be the pipes used to get to me, but now this has become a common practice and it does too. Police funerals seem to becoming too common. I have already been to one this year. Anymore we in the business are all vulnerable. Too many wackos out there.

Several years ago, one of our county sheriff's was killd in a motorcycle accident while respondingto a call. He was very well known and liked by the guys at the tow company I worked for.(we were commission drivers & he was a very aggressive traffic officer) Several of us went to his funeral. As I was sitting there, all of a sudden it hit me that in all the years that my dad was a police officer, it could have been MY family sitting down in the front row. Ron is right; it seems that police funerals are happening waaaaay too often. Every time I see an officer at a coffee shop or when Im on a call, I make sure I thank them for what they do & i always tell them to be safe!
